If you go to a window treatment specialist for custom drapes or Roman shades, there’s no doubt you have an eye for design. You wouldn’t go to an expert if you didn’t care about how your window treatment would look and function.

As connoisseurs of our craft, The Pinched Pleat takes the design process seriously and ensures you have an active role in choosing everything from fabric to functionality. Better yet, we present designs and renderings to you before fabrication so you know exactly what to expect when the project is complete.

Keep reading to learn about our comprehensive design presentations and everything you can expect to see (and touch!) before giving us the go-ahead to order materials.

When Can I See My Designs?

Before we start designing, we’ll set up an at-home or online meeting with you, depending on your preferences and location. After we learn as much as possible about you, your space, and your taste in fabric, color, style, and functionality, we put our expertise to use and start brainstorming.

The design process usually takes around three days but may vary depending on how many treatments you want, the intricacy of the designs, and how many design options we create. We’ll set up your design presentation meeting when we have all physical samples and design renderings complete.

What’s Included in a Design Presentation?

Meeting in person for a design presentation is optimal for seeing and feeling the sample materials first-hand. Of course, an online meeting is always an option. A meeting can last up to 90 minutes, as we have several elements to present:

    • Design Renderings
We prepare two to three designs, including digital renderings of what a design will look like in your home.

    • Physical Samples
A fabric's feel and physical characteristics are just as important as its aesthetics. If relevant to your project, we also bring samples of hardware. This is one instance where touching before you buy is encouraged!

    • Detailed Treatment Specifications
Logistics are a necessity, even in the most creative pursuits. We’ll present you with organized specifications regarding size, lining options, function, and more.

Design presentations are an open table for your opinions and inquiries. Depending on your chosen design and specifications, we’ll use this meeting to review timeline estimations and pricing. After discussing our contract, deposit requirements, and any questions or ideas you have, we’ll wrap up and prepare for ordering and fabrication.
